Teen Trendsetters Reading Mentors:

Boosting reading skills isn’t the only thing that’s great about Teen Trendsetters. “There were hugs all around and the high school kids were sad to leave their young mentees because they know they made such a difference in the life of a child.”

–Vicki Craig, teacher at West Port High School following end-of-year party

Family Literacy

Our academies offer families hope for a better life.  They’re willing to work hard to learn English, reading and writing skills, parenting tips and courses to help them pass the GED. With their young children in tow, parents have a place to learn at no cost…and start down the path of achieving the American dream.

Adaminda knew no English when she first began family literacy classes.  A year later, she’s advanced four levels and reads to her kids every day.  And today, she’s creating a small business plan because Adaminda aspires to become a successful entrepreneur to better support her two young children.

eco-Volunteer USA

The nation’s beautiful state parks and the recreational joys they offer have taken a hard hit in recent years, due to the Great Recession.  This program provides a unique way for families, college groups and corporate employees to get involved in preserving and protecting state parks. Get your hands dirty trimming trails, pulling exotic plants or even building ADA accessible boat launches, as we take our eco-Volunteer service projects to a refreshing level.

“You know, many people who have special needs have admired kayaking and canoeing afar but never had the chance to do it. Eco-Volunteers gave me the opportunity to try boating for the first time!”

– Rosalind Nichols enjoys first canoeing experience at Lake Kissimmee
