SEND A MESSAGE OF HOPE TO THE FAMILIES OF HAITI...
Cards of Care….is a simple way for American children and their parents to touch the hearts of Haitians. The National Disaster Recovery Fund, managed by Volunteer USA Foundation, launched the project recognizing the need to provide hope and comfort in many months and years ahead as Haiti begins a long journey of recovery.
Simply send handmade cards and letters to show your love and support. We'll make sure they get to the people of Haiti through outreach at hospitals, shelters, schools and non-profit groups.

Volunteer USA is also providing a free lesson plan to help teachers use the Haitian earthquake and other real-life disasters as examples of how Americans assist with humanitarian and recovery efforts, as well as provide a platform to discuss the need for all families to develop and practice personal disaster plans.

In addition, the National Disaster Recovery Fund provides a coordinated long-term recovery efforts go where they are needed most. We commit to care for families during the months, and even years, that it may take to rebuild and reclaim their lives. Join us in our partnership. ECONOMY SPURS SUNTRUST FOUNDATION AND VOLUNTEER USA TO TEAM UP FOR "FAMILY-FRIENDLY" FINANCIAL EDUCATION PROGRAM
We’ve got a fun new way to provide young students with math and money lessons. The program also offers evening parent/child workshops to get the whole family thinking about how basic math skills relate to every day spending, saving and investing decisions. The family financial education program is being offered free of charge to elementary schools in several Florida school districts. Click here to learn more. VOLUNTEER USA'S DEAF FAMILY LITERACY ACADEMY LAUNCHES PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
Our Deaf Family Literacy Academies, DFLAs, are the first step for inclusion of deaf and hard-of-hearing children in their own homes, in school, in making friends and fully functioning in society. Our model offers early intervention for deaf and hard-of-hearing children, parental involvement with their children through education in signing, reading together for parents and children and English for non-English speaking families.
